Bëndëg-shêka Bî (/ɘˈfɘdɘ/ /ˈʃɘka/ [premier] [packet]) is a subtropical Town located in the Z̄upaguv Zone of the Union of Engineers.
The name Bëndëg-shêka Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Bëndëg-shêka Bî was founded by Shygzirth Fyesh, who was culturaly Iron Elven.
Climate
Bëndëg-shêka Bî has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Bëndëg-shêka Bî receives an average of 289 cm/y (113 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Bëndëg-shêka Bî covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 2808 m (9212 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Bëndëg-shêka Bî was founded in time immemorial, reportedly some time durring the late 8th century, by Shygzirth Fyesh. The establishment of Bëndëg-shêka Bî was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Shygzirth Fyesh struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Bëndëg-shêka Bî as a prison colony.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 8th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bëndëg-shêka Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of narrow flagstone streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town is protected by a series of wooden fences ringing the town's parimiter, which are likly intended to keep varrious beasts out of town rather than protect it from attack by any intelegent agents. Bëndëg-shêka Bî's bare minimum defences are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.
Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Bëndëg-shêka Bî, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same divine, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its divine. Asside form the revrent worship, you can see the citizens are preparing for something, and that something isn’t good. Weapons are worn openly. Defensive structures have been recently constructed to guard less used areas of the town. Merchants seem very eager to sell their wares at discount prices. Something is coming.
Civic Infrastructure
Bëndëg-shêka Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Bëndëg-shêka Bî.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Bëndëg-shêka Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
Bëndëg-shêka Bî's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.
Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is long in Bëndëg-shêka Bî.
The Gravebound near Bëndëg-shêka Bî are known to be quite timid.
Bëndëg-shêka Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves orgies to channel Truename Magic energies of tier 3 via proclamations.
